About Brazil

Brazil is the largest country in the southern hemisphere and the fifth largest in the world. Home to 190 million people, this country of extremes offers something for everyone. Experience Carnaval in Rio de Janeiro or Salvador, relax on the beaches of Bahia, explore the Amazon and marvel at the awesome Iguacu Falls.

With such a huge country to explore the hardest part is deciding which part you want to concentrate on. Do you want to investigate the biodiversity of the Amazon and the Pantanal? Do you want to party with the locals in Rio? Do you want to explore colonial towns, enjoy tropical islands or head inland for amazing countryside?

The Brazilian people are friendly and welcoming wherever you choose to visit and there's always something going on for you to get involved with. Take in a game with the soccer-mad locals, play sport on the beach or just sit with a drink and watch the world go by.

You can indulge in fantastic Brazilian food, whether gorging on a traditional Churrascaria, indulging in Feijoada stew or feasting on the local fruit. Each region has its own culinary specialities and you can wash your meal down with a caipirinha made from cachaca – the local spirit.

And if you like to party the Brazilians will party with you. They like nothing better than dancing to samba strains and enjoying life.
